"Horses change lives. They give our young (and not so young) people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls. They give us hope! "– Toni Robinson

RDA (Riding For The Disabled Association)

Our horses are gentle and the horses, we use for these sessions are well trained. Our aim is to create an inclusive equine environment that will allow people to achieve their personal goals. Spending time with horses is proven to reduce anxiety, encourage interaction, increase self-esteem and facilitate the expression of feelings and emotions.

We provide riding and vaulting lessons for people of all abilities and for people with special needs. We are also passionate about creating a safe and fun environment for people , who suffer form mental illnesses. It is scientifically proven, that just 30 minutes spent around a horse, will reduce stress, anxiety and will improve your happiness level.
We offer sessions once every fortnight for people, who suffer from depression or other mental illness. In our 2 hour sessions, you will only be asked to do what you are comfortable with. For some that might be just to be around the horses, brush and groom them, lead them through some obstacles or sit on a horse without saddle while it is standing still. Others might like to ride or vault. Sessions will usually be in groups of 2 to 8 people and we usually finish with a cuppa and a bit of cake, which gives everyone the chance to talk to like minded people.

Price: £20 per session

During school holidays the Lads Lodge hosts special events that will be announced on our what’s on page. These include clinics, Stable Days, training days, pony days and mini competitions.
